The National Electrical Code® (NEC) requires a disconnecting means to be located within sight of and readily accessible from the air-conditioning or refrigerating equipment. All Midwest AC disconnect models provide the disconnecting function specified in NEC440.14 to help ensure safe installation and maintenance. The acceptable type of disconnecting means is determined by the specific equipment being installed and applicable local codes.
